Rod's Restaurant Clarenville

If your in the Clarenville area and feeling like a major munch, Rod's place on manitoba drive is the place to go. My personal favorites on the menu are either the fish, which is always fresh, or the hamburger sandwich. The gravy cannot be good for you because nothing that taste that good ever is. The most noticable thing about Rod's place is the sheer quantity of food you will receive. I have a healthy appetite. Yet a full supper leaves me not wanting more. The prices are reasonable, and you will get fast friendly service. Definitely a Newfoundland treasure.

Marystown Treasure

Recently my wife and I had the privilage to stay at a wonderful little B&B in Spanish room near Marystown. Despite the fact that we live only minutes from this little known resort, we decided to use their accomodations to celebrate another year of marriage.
We stayed in the Hibernia room which is a little more expensive, but well worth it. A king sized bed, a large soaker tub, and a in room fireplace made for an atmousphere second to none.
We took full advantage of a wonderful workout room, and I tried the sauna for my first time. a little hot for my taste but my wife enjoyed it. The hospitality displayed by our hosts Claudine Prior and her son Carter was wonderful and sharing in their company made our trip even more pleasurable. A large homecooked breakfast tooped off ourexcursion and we returned to our home with another wonderful memory. I look forward to going back again for sure

Home away from Home

Last year I had the pleasure of staying at Blueberry Hills B&B in Cavendish Newfoundland. The Resort is owned by Jim and Barb Jackson. During my stay, my wife and I were treated with hospitality that was second to nothing that I have seen. As a special treat we enjoyed the company of Fifi which is the couples Newfoundland Dog. She is as friendly and charming as she is large. We stayed at the honeymoon suite which has a large luxurious heart shaped jakuzzi. The home cooked breakfast that we were given was a pure delight. My wife and I look forward to the day when we will return to cavendish and spend another few days at Blueberry hills B&B
